Andrew Garrett, DO, MPH, MS

Rock Creek Neurosurgery and SpineDr. Andrew Garrett was born and raised in Orem, Utah. After 12 years away, he is delighted to return to the area to establish a comprehensive practice in adult Neurology. Dr. Garrett has a wide range of experience in Adult Neurology. His areas of special interest and expertise include the management of migraine and other headache disorders using botulinum toxin and nerve block procedures. He also has experience treating a variety of movement disorders with botulinum toxin, specifically cervical dystonia, post stroke spasticity, and hemifacial spasm. He has extensive experience in routine neurophysiological testing, including the use of EMG and nerve conduction studies for evaluating compressive neuropathies and cervical/lumbar radiculopathy, as well as routine electroencephalography in the evaluation of epilepsy.
Andrew and his wife Suzana recently relocated from San Diego, California with their six children, where he served as a medical officer in the United States Navy and Assistant Professor of Neurology for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. During medical school, he completed a Master of Public Health with a focus on database Epidemiology and also holds a Master of Science in Microbiology from Brigham Young University.
Skills & Experience
Dr. Garrett has a wide range of experience in Adult Neurology. His areas of expertise include the management of complicated migraine and other headache disorders using botulinum toxin, nerve block procedures, and medication. He also has a special interest in treating a variety of movement disorders with botulinum toxin, including cervical dystonia, tremor, poststroke spasticity, and hemifacial spasm. He uses botulinum toxin to treat a variety of other conditions, including postherpetic neuralgia, as well as spasticity related to cerebral palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Neuromyelitis Optica. He also has extensive experience in the treatment Parkinson’s disease and tremor disorders.
In addition, he has extensive experience in routine neurophysiological testing. Areas of expertise include electroencephalography (EEG) for the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and the use of EMG and nerve conduction studies for evaluating neuromuscular conditions such as compressive neuropathy and radiculopathy. EEG services are provided at our Payson office, and EMG is done in both Payson and American Fork.
